SAT (Contents)
The SAT consists of 3 Subject Areas and an Essay
-- Critical Reading
-- Math
-- Writing Skills (with Essay)
There are 10 sections on the SAT:
--3 Sections of Critical Reading
--3 Sections of Math
--3 Sections of Writing Skills
--1 Equating (Experimental) Section
+ Can be any one of the 3 subject areas
+ Does NOT affect the SAT score
Test Format
The first section must be the Essay. for 25 minutes. The 10th, final, section must be a 14 question section of Writing Skills that lasts 10 minutes. The 8th and 9th sections are 20 minutes long each, and one of them will be Math and the other will be Critical Reading. The order, however, will vary by test administration. The 2nd through 7th sections will consist of two Reading Comprehension sections, two Math sections, one Writing Skills section, and one Equating section. Each of these 6 sections will be 25 minutes long.
