ACT

The ACT Assessment Student Report will contain 4 Subject Area scores: English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science. Each of these scores range from 1 to 36.

Each of the Subject Areas has associated subsection scores. Subsection scores range from 1 to 18.

English has two subsection scores:
     1. Usage/Mechanics
     2. Rhetorical Skills

Mathematics has three subsection scores:
     1. Pre-Algebra
     2. Algebra/Coordinate Geometry
     3. Plane Geometry/Trig.

Reading has two subsecton scores:
     1. Social Studies/Science
     2. Arts/Literature

At the end of the report will be a Composite (Average) score. The Composite score is obtained by averaging the 4 subject area scores. The Composite score is also on a scale of 1 to 36.

There are also percentiles associated with each subject area score, subsection score, and composite score. These scores indicate what percentage of test takers scored lower than you in each of the subject areas, subsections, or overall.

If you elect to take the Writing Test then you will also receive a English/Writing Subject score (1 to 36) as well as a Writing (Essay) score (2 to 12).
