ACT
All questions are graded according to the same point schedule:
Correct: +1 point
Omit: 0 points
Incorrect: 0 points
The ACT score is ONLY determined by the number of Correctly answered questions.
When should I Guess?
To answer this question, we will consider three scenarios. In all of them the student does not know to answer to 10 questions. In the first scenario, the student will omit all 10 questions. In the second and third scenarios, the student will guess on all 10 questions. According to probability theory, the student should get at least two questions correct when randomly guessing. So in the second scenario, the student will get two questions correct of the 10 questions she guesses on. In the third scenario, the student guesses correctly on four of the questions. The following table illustrates the results.

Hence, the student will ALWAYS be better off by guessing instead of omitting questions.
You should ANSWER EVERY QUESTION, even if you must guess!!
